From the recording Ghosts
"Ghosts" tells of a state where the spirits of yore persist but have lost their power to scare, to embarrass, or to haunt. They speak when I'm not listening, of what might have been, but they have gone the way of souvenirs and mysteries. A surf-rock number from the forthcoming album "Gilman Town Hall."
Lyrics
You became a ghost, just a wisp upon the air
Memories cannot erase, someone no longer there
Empty sheets of might have been, a revenant remains
It speaks when I’m not listening
To remind me of the pain
Souvenirs and mysteries
Oh, I let them go
What you don’t believe can’t hurt you
And those ghosts don’t haunt me, don’t ya know
Rain falls like angels, invisible their wings
Shadows fall like autumn leaves, never to see the spring
Souvenirs and mysteries
Oh, I let them go
What you don’t believe can’t hurt you
And those ghosts don’t haunt me, don’t ya know
You became a ghost, and I a sorrowed soul
Love it will not disappear, even though I let you go
Souvenirs and mysteries
Oh, I let them go
What you don’t believe can’t hurt you
And those ghosts don’t haunt me, don’t ya know
Souvenirs and mysteries
Oh, I let them go
What you don’t believe won’t kill ya
And those ghosts don’t haunt me anymore!
